- Ensure the continued prosperity of House Sarenta
- Guarantee his children flourish.
Character History thus far
Dacian was born just outside Silverlight on a cool Dornish day in 270AL, his father was Lord Soren Sarenta and his mother Isira. His mother was from a wealthy family of Dornish merchants and she was considered exceptionally beautiful, and Soren Sarenta had pursued her relentlessly. Soren already had four children, one daughter and three sons but he insisted that Alaric live with his half-sister and brothers, sending Isira away. Soren was a hard man, a man of steel and proud of it. House Sarenta had been on the decline for some time, the silver mines which had once made it rich were not as productive . Soren, however, was not of the right personality to deal with these problems, he was a savage man built for fighting. Soren did want more for his children, providing the best education and training for them, but this was something purely for his legitimate children, Darian had a different destiny.
Soren was only really interested in raising Dacian to be someone who would fight and kill for him. It was not to say Dacian had no education, he did, but nothing like his siblings and a great deal of what he learned was of a more practical nature. Soren was very pleased with all the progress of his children, Alya, his daughter was a very intelligent woman and was a suitable heir, but his sons all had their own virtues. Dacian had formed a strong bond with Alya but cared little for his half-brothers By age fourteen Dacian was already skilled with sword and spear and an expert rider and Soren sent him to deal with bandits that plagued the surrounding desert. Dacian did not return home for three years, after dealing with the bandits he travelled around Dorne and even ventured as far as King’s Landing. Eventually, he returned home when he received a peculiar letter from Lady Sarissa, Soren’s wife.
When he arrived back in Silverlight it was clear that something had gone terribly wrong. Soren had seemingly lost his mind, Alya was imprisoned and two of his sons were dead, both mortally wounded after being forced to fight each other, his remaining son Alexander was gravely ill but he did not allow anyone to help him. His father immediately embraced him, telling him ridiculous stories of plots against him and how he could trust no one. He then gave Dacian an amazing order, to kill his half-sister. Promising to do as he was told he left Silverlight and travelled to where Alya was being held. He greeted the men guarding Alya warmly and told them of his orders, but first they would celebrate. He quickly poisoned them all. Freeing Alya he was unclear what to do next but events overtook him. Soren died suddenly and while many suspected Sarissa’s hand few blamed her and everyone quickly agreed the Lord of Silverlight died in his sleep. Alya came into her inheritance but there was little to celebrate, Alexander did not die but neither did he recover, remaining weak and prone to serious illness. Alya, however, was far more capable than her father and began to rebuild the fortunes of Silverlight. Dacian remained close to her, essentially commanding all the military forces she had and serving as a trusted adviser.
Dacian practiced relentlessly with his spear, proving to be truly formidable with the weapon. He also became adept at using small knives an daggers, indeed, some people remarked how he seemed to have an endless supply of small blades hidden about his person. Rumours of his knowledge of poisons abound after killing the men guarding Alya but it is not a method he likes to use. He also began competing in tourneys and similar contests, eager to prove his skill.
Several years after Alya began her rule in Silverlight Dacian married Cya, a young woman from a wealthy family (a marriage arranged for him by Alya) and shortly after had one daughter, Jayra. Dacian has also been involved with a number of other women and has one bastard son, Rhanen.
Dacian had always liked to travel and with Alya consumed with the affairs of Silverlight it is Dacian who represents the interests of House Sarenta outside of Silverlight.
Character Personality
Dacian is an intelligent and resilient man, brought up in a harsh environment to toughen him he is a strong man. Dacian is cunning strategist, better used in springing traps and guerrilla warfare than large battles. He is brave to the point of reckless and is prone to boredom, always preferring action to waiting. Dacian is ambitious and is willing to risk a lot to get what he wants.
Dacian has little time for pointless violence and cruelty, seeing what became of his father’s path of fierce brutality he has chosen a kinder. He is generous with his wealth and enjoys fine living a little too much. While he has no official paramour there have been a number of women in his life.
Dacian is very sensitive about the fortunes of House Sarenta, never wanting to look inferior to other nobles, Dornish or not. He takes slights against him and his House very seriously but is unconcerned with his status as a bastard. He can be quick to lose his temper and can act without appreciating the consequences and is willing is to fight for honour and that of House Sarenta.
Dacian is a vain man, he spends gold on the finest things, his armour is light but of the highest quality with ornate patterns and markings, including engraving of the flames present in the Sarenta sigil. He can be charming and eloquent at times but equally often finds himself in trouble because he says the wrong thing.

Sample Roleplay (At least 200 words please)
Dacian rose early with the sun streaming in through his window, he rose slowly and stretched. He looked back at the woman in his bed, his wife Cya was a beautiful woman, but this was not her. Cya was back in Silverlight. He quickly began to dress, not forgetting what he had to do today. Once fully dressed he walked to the window and looked, it was a bright day, a good day for fighting. The day before some fool of a lordling from the Reach had dared to insult Dorne, calling it the “barren wasteland” of the Seven Kingdoms. Naturally, such an insult could not be tolerated.
He had travelled into the Crownlands on the way to King’s Landing but he had stopped off here, a charming little place where he could indulge himself before he had to act respectably before the King. He had never intended to get involved in a duel. He called for his squire who quickly helped him don his light armour, he didn’t wear the thicker armed favoured by those further north. He would use his spear to keep his opponent at a distance. Ready in his armour he checked his knives, one in his boot, two in his belt, he grabbed his spear and headed out into the sun.
The lordling was waiting for him and Dacian wished he could remember his name, possibly it was Graves. Nobles from the Reach had no respect for Dorne, and this feeling was mutual. The two men stared at each other, the lordling was wearing impressive looking armour and seemed quietly confident. Little was said as the two approached each other, Dacian could tell that the lordling was not going to back down. He was impressed by the man’s bravery.
“Are you sure you want to go through with this?” asked the lordling.
Dacian nodded, “Of course. It is a matter of honour.” The lordling nodded and he could see him tense. The fight was about to begin.
