On Winter Is Coming the key to your characters progression is for them to gain the various rewards that are on offer that are related to character advancement. Rewards for your character/s can be earned three ways; by completing Quests and Personal Role-Plays (otherwise known as PRPs or threads). Below you will find information varying from descriptions of what exactly Quests and PRPs are, the rewards on offer, and lots more relevant information.
Reward Information
By completing PRPs, Quests (coming soon) and even Battles your character is rewarded a specific amount of varying rewards. Each different type of reward will help you to advance your character in a different way, helping to customise and build them however you like. The varying rewards are as follows:
- Experience Points (xp) - Experience is the what helps you character progress higher into the Level charts.
- Gold (G) - This is the currency used in the World of Ice & Fire. You will need it to purchase anything in shops throughout the universe.
PRPs
Personal Role-Plays (or PRPs) allow members the extra freedom that Quests do not, enabling them to fully create any In Character storyline that they want to. Unlike the majority of Quests, PRPs are not location specific, so they grant that much more freedom and are ideal for character or storyline progression and development.

Quality Bonuses
Because we want to encourage members to continually strive for a high standard of writing, improvement and great character development, a Quality Bonus system has been created to reward members for when they do outstanding writing. This system will remain a secret to the general public and only the staff will be privy to the information surrounding it, but it will be taken into account every time a thread is graded. On the flip side, if a grader believes that little to no effort has been put into the thread they are grading, they have the option available to give a “Negative Quality Bonus”, which will include reducing the basic reward. However, this will only be used in rare cases.
Quests
Characters have the opportunity to take up Quests, which span across the lands of Westeros and beyond, bringing glory, riches, honour as well as potentially rare and valuable items! To complete a Quest you must follow/meet all of the special requirements listed, as well as roughly following the pre-set story for it. The Quests vary in difficulty and Reward; the higher the difficulty then the more we expect of you when judging it, but with a high difficulty also comes a high reward. The Quests come in three main Difficulties (Medium, Hard & Very Hard) and currently there is only one type of Quest that you can undertake:
Normal Quests - These are the most standard type of Quest available on the site. They will usually involve a standard story to follow, where certain requirements must be met during the Quest to successfully complete it. A Quests rewards will vary depending on it's specified difficulty and resulting bonus, if earned.
Each Quest has 'Objectives' that must be met for completion, and if a Quest involves you travelling to several locations (i.e.: from The Crownlands to The Cold North) then you must split the Quest into multiple threads (one in each area - Crownlands, Riverlands & the North; to represent the journey). If the locations you need to travel to fall under the same realm, then a singular thread will suffice.
The difficulty and rewards gained by doing Quests differ:
Medium
Hard
Very Hard
