Desired Character Daenerys Targaryen
Character Gender Female
Character House Targaryen
Character Alignment Targaryen.
Character Appearance
Character's Goals Daenerys plans to return to Westeros as soon as she has a large enough army. She plans to take back the Iron Throne that Robert the Usurper stole from her father.
Character History thus far: Born to King Aerys II, known throughout the land of Westeros as the mad king and his sister-wife and Queen, Rhaella, during Robert's rebellion, Daenerys spent much of her life on the run with her older brother Viserys. Though her pregnant mother had fled to Dragonstone, the ancestral seat of House Targaryen, to bear her, it did little to protect her and her brother Viserys from the horrors of war after Robert took the Iron Throne. With both their parents dead, Rhaella from labor and Aerys at the hands of Jaime Lannister, the Kingslayer, those left on Dragonstone thought it would be a simple enough task to turn the two Targaryen children over to Robert in return for their lives. However, before this could occur, Ser Willem Darry smuggled the two children into the Free City of Braavos.Dany and her brother lived with Ser Willem for a number of years but, old and sickly as he was, he eventually passed away and the servants forced the children from the house.
From then on it was Viserys who raised and protected her as the two of them wandered the Free Cities looking for someone willing to aid them in the reclaiming of their homeland, a homeland that Dany, herself, did not remember. Constantly on the run and fearing for their lives (Robert's agents were everywhere, Viserys said), it was a stroke of luck when they happened upon Illyrio Mopatis, a wealthy magister from the Free City of Pentos who offered them shelter and aid at no apparent cost. After some time in Illyrio's care, Viserys and the magister hatched a plan to procure a Dothraki army by marrying Dany off to Khal Drogo.
It was expected that, in return for giving him a wife/queen, Drogo would give Viserys an army with which he might return home to Westeros and reclaim his birthright. Instead, however, Viserys eventually crossed the line, threatening Dany and her unborn child, Rhaego (the stallion that would mount the world), and was given the crown he'd asked for in the form of molten gold. With Viserys out of the picture, Dany continued to grow and mature and began taking charge of her new life as Drogo's Khaleesi.
Her new found confidence had her challenging long-held Dothroki traditions regarding slavery and women, and it was not until Drogo took a wound and fell ill that she knew fear again. After days of suffering, her sun and stars died and Dany, desperate to bring him back to her, enlisted the help of a maegi by the name of Mirri Maz Duur against the wishes of the Khalasar. The maegi, however, still bitter about the murdering, raping, and enslaving of her people, neglected to inform Dany of the true price and the result of her magics and brought Drogo back to a useless, zombie-like state at the cost of their child, Rhaego. The event itself taught Dany an important lesson about trust, and she took particular pleasure in tying the maegi up and burning her alive, paying the price - death, and life - her dragons as, in a moment of understanding she added her dragon eggs to her husband's funeral pyre and walked toward its center.
Though many believed her dead, when the fire died down and the smoke cleared, a naked but unburnt Daenerys sat in the midst of the rubble with her children, three newly hatched dragons, suckling at her teats, leading her tow become known as both The Unburnt and The mother of Dragons. Dany has since begun collecting the remnants of her husband's Khalasar and venturing across the Free Cities in search of an army.Character PersonalityDany is not only a young woman coming into her own, but a queen coming into her own, something which she strives to remember. Since she began her campaign to return to Westeros and reclaim her birthright, Daenerys has not only become more confident, but more stubborn as well. Where once, she might have been content to lead where others (namely Drogo or her brother, Viserys) led, now, she is very much about taking charge and proving that she can be not only kind and fair, but also strong and decisive. It is as she once said to Jorah, "I do not have a gentle heart." As it stands, Dany is still rather inexperienced in matters of war and of the world in general (though she learns much about them each day as she makes her way across the free cities), lending her a sort of innocent naivety and the ability to trust. It is her belief that everyone deserves a second chance and that those who prove their loyalty should be rewarded in kind and that all should be free to live and pledge themselves as they so choose. As such, she is much loved by the majority of her followers and seems to inspire loyalty wherever she goes. She is not, however, without a few things which she cannot, under any circumstances, abide, first and foremost among these things being slavery. Dany has made it her mission to free the enslaved and punish slavers as she makes her way from city to city. As a result, she has become something of a savior/mother figure to many a slave, ensuring that they have provisions, clothing, and protection, much as any mother would. However, her dragons are her first and foremost loves, and the closest to her heart. Her children she calls them, and she would do anything to ensure their safety and good health. But, of course, one so young cannot always be the protector, and Dany is well aware of her own relative weakness and vulnerability, even as she hates the thought of having to rely too heavily upon her protectors.

Sample Roleplay "My Queen." It was Jorah's voice that guided her back to reality, that took her from the Nightlands and delivered her into true night, where her tent walls were illuminated by the dim flicker of torchlight at each corner. Though heavy with sleep and the fleeting vision of Drogo riding before her, Dany forced herself to rise and rub the sleep from her eyes.
She pushed aside the furs that lay piled atop her, protecting her from a night that was as cold as the day had been hot, and shivered as the chill night air rushed in to caress her skin. Gooseflesh rose on her arms. She rubbed at them as she rose from her pallet."Ser Jorah," she regarded the Westerosi knight with a curious expression, wondering why he'd seen fit to rouse her before morning.
It was rare that he came to wake her, and rarer still to see him so out of sorts. There was something in his eyes now, a wariness that she did not like the look of. "Is something wrong?"His answer was as soft as the words that had been used to rouse her, as though he meant to shield her from the worst of his news even as he felt duty bound to deliver it to her. "Ships are sailing this way." Dany frowned. She did not need his protection, or rather she did not desire the sort he wished for her - soft words and softer gestures. She could still recall the feel of his hand as it tipped her chin up until their eyes met, warm and calloused and--Dany shuddered and immediately blamed it on the chill, lest she worry her bear. Her fretful bear who saw danger at every turn. Yet ships, they could herald danger or salvation depending on their point of origin their purpose. He was wise to be wary, but Dany could not rule out the possibility of salvation, not when she had pushed so hard. Her people deserved something more, something that she could not yet give them. Perhaps these ships would be the answer to her prayers, would help her give them all that they deserved and more. She had a hundred questions for him - what standard were they flying? Where had they come from? What was their purpose, many of them from from his knowing, yet she could not bring herself to ask them. Instead, she merely nodded gravely and turned to gather one of the furs about her shoulders to stave off the chill. When she turned to face him again, the fire of determination lit her gaze. For all her hope, she could not rule out the very real possibility that they had come to destroy her. The mother of dragons had many enemies. Yet even so, she would steel herself. She would remain strong, every inch the Queen...no, the Khaleesi. "Let them come."
