Character Information
Character Name: Vaenor Blackfyre.
Gender: Male.
Character Age: 23.
Character House House Blackfyre.
Alignment: Loyal to House Blackfyre and those within it, and no one else.
Character's Goals:
Despite never particularly enjoying his lessons, Vaenor found he had an almost natural talent for just about anything he applied himself to, whether practical or knowledge based. While others struggled, he excelled, mostly without any major effort on his part and with a smug air about himself. He surpassed most others in his swordsmanship and his physical training, and though his mind may not have been as finely tuned a muscle as his body was becoming, he liked to believe that it wasn’t too far behind.
Like most young boys, Vaenor had a taste for adventure that he just could not satisfy. As his confidence grew with age, the adventures that the nearby forests, mountains and ruins held began to appeal to him less and less, and it wasn’t long before the young boy was sneaking off to the ruins of Old Valyria itself; even though his parents had deemed it too dangerous and strictly forbidden it. However, it wasn’t just his escapades that continued to grow, his growing ego running parallel with his adventures. Before long the young boy was fully confident in himself, and had taken the first step in believing himself to be superior to all those who were not of his direct kin; he even often looked down on his cousins.
The older Vaenor became the more freedom he was allowed, unlike his sisters. He was granted permission to travel to the ruins of Old Valyria, not that he ever needed it, and even some of the more distant points of the somewhat desolate realm they had claimed for their own. He would often be away for weeks on end, but on his return he would almost always bring back items that he had found in the ruins during his adventures, bestowing them on his family to honour them. He had done such a thing for Visenya, his younger sister, on her fifteenth birthday, when he had presented her with a Valyrian Steel dagger, which he then preceded to teach her how to wield.
It was in his teenage years that Vaenor had already discovered his interest in women, and his stature coupled with his self-proclaimed good looks never left him wanting in this department, which he often took full advantage of. However, in his later teenage years, after many years of sexual conquests with other women, he truly came to understand that one day soon he would no doubt be married to someone who his parents deemed worthy. He suspected that it would no doubt be his older sister, after all he was the heir of House Blackfyre and no lowly cousin would be a fitting bride in his eyes. Though at the age of twenty-three he is still yet to marry, and has not yet been officially approached by any women or his parents.
Character Personality: Much like many young men born into positions of power, Vaenor is very confident, cocky even, and has the strong belief that he is better than all other outsiders purely because of who he is, let alone the family he comes from; this often makes him come across as quite vile and scornful to some people. As well as being extremely prideful, Vaenor is also very vain about his appearance, believing himself to more handsome than any other man throughout the colony, and not being afraid to make his views on the matter known publicly. With quite the taste for alcohol, and an equally large thirst for women too, it is a surprise to many that Vaenor is also a disciplined warrior and a exceptionally trained fighter, which matches his adventurous and ambitious nature.
However, despite all of this the young Blackfyre is kind and loyal with his family to a fault, often acting near completely different from his usual self while with them. His ambitions for his family are large, and his love and compassion for them are equally sized, fuelled by his belief that they deserve better than the menial life of relative unimportance that their hidden exile has become. Overly protective of his siblings, being the eldest male, Vaenor believes it is his role to look after them until they are old enough or able to fend for themselves, though it is done in a subtle manner, the eldest brother instead often coming across as if ignoring them almost entirely.
