Smalljon is what most would call a great bear of a man. Standing at seven foot three inches tall, there are few in the Seven Kingdoms that can match his stature, though there are a few. Completely covered in muscle, Smalljon weighs around three hundred and fifteen pounds, though little, if any of that weight is fat. His hair he keeps to his shoulders, giving him a bit of a wild look to him.
Most often he is dressed for war, with a mixture of ring and platemail covering his body. When not in his metal armor, Smalljon wears dark leather and furs, designed to keep warm in the cold expanse of the North. Instead of a sword, Smalljon wields an expertly crafted warhammer that stands nearly as tall as his father.
A trademark of the Smalljon is his long, dark brown beard that he keeps braided into six separate braids. This distinguishes him amongs the various dark haired lords and allows for recognition, even under the most difficult circumstances, as if his large stature was not enough.
If one ever sees Smalljon free of his shirt and armor, one would notice a great scar on his left bicep. This was given to him by a soldier of Pyke when he served as his father's squire in the Greyjoy Rebellion. The wound itself healed well, leaving only a scar and Smalljon retaining full strength and use of his arm, something the Maesters called a miracle.

Character History thus farBorn in 275 AL, Smalljon Umber was always a giant of a man. His mother birthed him and lived, though to this day, she complains about the feat. Named for his father Jon, throughout his childhood, he was frequently called “Smalljon” as a way to differentiate between he and his lord father. However, the nickname stuck and to this day, he prefers to be called Smalljon.
Trained in combat since he was very young, Smalljon soon found himself larger and stronger than most of his opponents though he was never as nimble or quick as them. Nevertheless, to capitalize on his great size and strength, his teachers soon put a warhammer in his hand, allowing him to deliver devastating blows without having to be quick.
During the Greyjoy Rebellion when Ned Stark called his banners, Greatjon Umber answered the call, taking his then fifteen year old son with him as his squire. The boy served well and tasted live combat, surviving to tell the tale with only a scar on his left arm.
Since his service to the realm in the Greyjoy rebellion, Smalljon has served as his father's heir, often leading groups of soldiers to deal with the wilding raiders that manage to cross into the Seven Kingdoms all while learning how best to rule Last Hearth and its surrounding lands.
Character Personality
As one who was raised a Northern Lord's son, Smalljon is one who values honor, strength and courage above all other character traits. Much like his father, Smalljon will follow those he believes in unto death and even beyond if it is required of him. Nothing will break his loyalty or his courage when facing danger.
However, Smalljon is also one that enjoys his drink and because of this, can become boisterous and loud at times. The giant of a man loves his ale and drinks much of it, though because of his size, it is hard to intoxicate him. In this respect, he is much like his father, Greatjon.
While not incredibly smart when it comes to things like mathematics or court intrigues, Smalljon has a strong grasp on battlefield tactics and the strategies of war though he prefers to act as a warrior general, rather than waiting behind the lines and giving orders from there. Smalljon is a man to be in the thick of the battle, grinning all the way. While he does not enjoy killing, he does enjoy testing his skills against other able warriors and whoever so much as dares to threaten his king and liege lord.
