Character Alignment: Loyal to House Stark and the Night’s Watch.
Character Appearance
Almost a man grown, Jon is one of two children, the other being his younger sister Ayra, of Eddard Stark who actually has the traditional features of a true Stark, and even then he more so than her. He has a lean build and a long face, with dark brown hair and grey eyes. His skin is pale, as usual with all born and raised in the cold harshness of the North, which is often in hard contrast to his dark hair and steadily growing stubble. Even at Winterfell, Jon shied away from clothes that were overly formal and bright, resigned more to clothing and colours that befit his stature, and so, after joining the Night's Watch, he was glad to dress in their official and traditional black garb.

Character's Goals:

- To see his family again.
Character History thus far: Jon is the bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark of Winterfell and an unknown woman.
Jon was raised at Winterfell on an equal footing with Eddard's legitimate children; an older half-brother Robb, two younger half-sisters Sansa and Arya, and two younger half-brothers Bran and Rickon. Jon's presence at Winterfell has always been a source of friction between Eddard and his wife, Catelyn, though the Bastard child has always got on well with his half-siblings, Robb and Arya in particular.
On the way back from the execution of a Night’s Watch deserter with his father, Robb, Bran and Theon Greyjoy, they stumble across a dead direwolf, previously thought extinct, and her six newborn pups; still alive and well. Jon adopts the runt of the litter, an albino, as his own, naming him Ghost. Treated coldly by his stepmother, Jon decides to accept his uncle Benjen's offer to join the Night's Watch, thus leaving Winterfell. However, before he departs, he says goodbye to Bran, who had been injured in a near fatal fall just days before. He gives Arya a sword named Needle that he had made especially for her, so she may remember him. At their parting, Eddard vows to tell Jon the truth about his mother the next time they meet. With that, Jon begins his journey to the wall with Benjen and Tyrion Lannister.
At Castle Black, Jon's expectations of the Night's Watch are confounded. Instead of a brotherhood of noble warriors sworn to defend the realm from wildlings and White Walkers, which he had originally believed, he quickly realises the Watch is a dumping ground for criminals and the unwanted of the realm. Tyrion helps Jon see that he is no better than the recruits, despite the advantages he’s had over them. With this advice in mind, Jon offers to train some of his new brothers, specifically two by the names of Pypar and Grenn, and also befriends Samwell Tarly; this is the turning point in Jon’s experience, where he finally decides to stick with the men of the Night’s Watch.
After completing his training, Jon swore his oath in front of the Godswood beyond the Wall and became a true man of the Night‘s Watch, alongside his new brother, Sam. He was assigned to the stewards rather than the rangers, apparently due to his ongoing feud with Ser Alliser Thorne, much to his disproval, but he accepts nevertheless once that Sam points out that Lord Commander Jeor Mormont has asked for Jon as his personal steward, and may be grooming him for command.
When Jon’s Uncle Benjen's horse returns to the Wall, rider-less, Snow is the first to volunteer to go in search, though his request is denied. Later, Ghost finds the corpses of two rangers assigned to Benjen, Othor and Ser Jafer Flowers. Jon is soon confined to his room after pulling a knife on Alliser Thorne, who taunts the young bastard on his father’s imprisonment in Kings Landing. Later, Othor's corpse becomes a wight, a White Walker, and attacks Commander Mormont, who Jon saves by burning the wight, earning a pardon for his earlier misdemeanour.
Mormont, who now views Jon as a son, gives him his Valyrian steel sword, which he remains Longclaw. Despite everything, Jon ponders abandoning the Watch to join Robb's army when he learns it will be marching against the Lannisters, however Maester Aemon tells him that he chose to stay with the Watch when he was similarly tested, when Robert Baratheon's rebels slew his nephew, the Mad King, and his son and grandchildren. The story results in Jon rethinking his departure, but upon later hearing of his fathers murder at the hands of the young King, Joffery, Jon immediately leaves, meaning to join Robb and seek vengeance for his father's death. It took Samwell, Pypar and Grenn intercepting him and convincing him to stay, before Jon returns.
Despite knowing of Jon’s momentary relapse, Mormont decides not to punish him, but reminds young Jon Snow that their war against the White Walkers is more important than the game of thrones in King's Landing.
Character Personality: Jon was raised as a Stark and Northerner and in many ways took to their values of honour, which he stands fast and morally holds on to even when forced with horrendous decisions. Jon always had issues with the fact that he is a Bastard and at time feels alienated, mainly due to his step-mother, Catelyn, and half-sister, Sansa. However, Jon is a pragmatist and has a sharp mind and despite his often cold exterior, he is an extremely emotional person, often having trouble looking past them and thinking clearly. Jon is extremely proud to be part of House Stark, and because of his trouble controlling his usually well hidden emotions, very little comes close to his loyalty to his family and friends; even sworn oaths.
